Sinead Fachelli, New Face at the Caribbean Fashion Week-RD 2012 at the pursuit of international markets

Santo Domingo, Rep. Dom. – Sinead Fachell new designer winner of the New Face Contest at the Caribbean Fashion Week RD 2012, presented her collection “Fourth Dimension”at the Couture Fashion Week during the New York Fashion Week in NYC, that took place in February and now goes after the conquest of the Heathrow Fashion Show in Honduras. 

Fachelli competed along with other 7 fashion design talents in the “New Faces of the Design 2012”, organized by the Caribbean Fashion Week RD, winning a scholaship to the prestigious Istituto Europeo Di Design (IED) represented in the Dominican Republic by the ODTE office. The contest developed in the frame of the CFW-RD 2012 collections, with the participation of distinguished Dominican and International designers, was focused in the life style of the movies Divas, being the Muse in this occasion the Dominican actress of the 40´s María Montez. 

These scholarships started in the tv show “Fashion TV”, thru new contests for fashion, graphics and interior designers, sometime after the producers of fashion TV, Tita and Omar Hasbun decided to extend this contest to a grand runway offering to the contestants to present their collections among local and international established designers in the platform of the Caribbean Fashion Week-RD, keeping strong agreements with the ODTE and the academic network – IED and it´s seven locations in Europe, Brazil and Japan, also with the Altos de Chavon School of Design and other fashion circuits such as: Puerto Rico High Fashion Week, Saint Lucia Fashion Week, and now with the Heathrow FW in San Pedro de Sula, Honduras. 

Designers that are making their way in the fashion industry, that started in the fashion events of the Hasbun family and that have been of benefit of these alliances attending international events, such as: Oriett Domenech (IED), Miguel genao (PRHFW), Yndra Rodríguez (IED) and new ones: Providencia Peña (IED), Amaury Matos (IED y PRHFW) Y Sinead Facelli (IED). Likewise others well known designers that are very successful have been invited in events associated to the CFW-RD in NYC, like Sully Bonnelly, Casanova, Lucía Rodríguez, Tahis Schenk and Martin Polanco, while the designer Modesta Castillo was invited to present her bridal collection at the Saint Lucia Fashion Week, affiliated to the CFW-RD directed by Tita, Omar and Billy Hasbun. 

Is a big pride that the organizers of the CFW-RD, that a new talent discovered in our fashion event has the possibility to present abroad. We are sure that Sinead´s talent and discipline 

Has a very promising future ahead and will know how to profit all these experiences and relations acquired at the Fashion capital of the World NYC, as well as her participation at the Honduras FW, and all the experience that she accumulated at the Istituto Europeo Di Design, thanks to all the effort and contribution that we have developed to benefit the designers, indicated Tita Hasbun, General Director of the most international fashion week in the Dominican Republic.

Sinead Fachelli Biography

Sinead Fachelli, was born in Santo Domingo on august 16, 1990. Started her studies in Architecture at the university in 2008, and then continued studies in Fashion Design at the Art and Design school of Altos de Chavon in 2010, afiliated to Parson´s School of Design in New York City.

In 2012 took part at the Caribbean Fashion Week for the New Face Contest, along with 7 others new designers, where each designer presented 3 creations inspired in the 40´s Dominican Hollywood Diva María Montéz, winning the scholarship for the Istituto Europeo Di Design.

That same year presented a collection in another fashion event in the Dominican Republic.  In 2013 presents her collection “Fourth Dimension” at the Couture Fashion Week in New York City and in Heathrow FW that takes place in Honduras.
